Learn what confidence scores mean and how to use them.

What is a Confidence Score?

A confidence score (0-100%) tells you how strongly we verified a claim against our knowledge base.

Score Ranges

90-100%: Very High Confidence

Meaning: Strong, direct verification path found.

Example:

"The Earth orbits the Sun" - 95% confidence

We found Earth, Sun, and “orbits” all connected in our knowledge graph.

70-89%: High Confidence

Meaning: Good verification, possibly indirect path.

Example:

"Paris is the capital of France" - 83% confidence

We found Paris and France, with a strong connection.

50-69%: Medium Confidence

Meaning: Partial verification. Some concepts found, path is weak.

Example:

"The meeting is at 3pm" - 55% confidence

We found “meeting” but specific details can’t be verified.

Below 50%: Low Confidence

Meaning: Couldn’t find strong verification.

Example:

"The restaurant on 5th street is good" - 20% confidence

Subjective claims and specific local details are hard to verify.

0%: Not Verified

Meaning: No verification path found.

Reasons this happens:

  • Claim is about the future
  • Claim is subjective/opinion
  • Concepts not in our database
  • Claim may be incorrect

Important Notes

⚠️

Low confidence does NOT mean false

We might not have that knowledge in our database yet.

⚠️

High confidence does NOT mean absolutely true
